Today is Friday, August 14. In the next week, my friends will all be leaving to start their freshman year at college. They are going to SUNY Alfred, Mansfield, Franklin and Marshal, Shippensburg, U Mass, PSU, Clark and various other schools scattered throughout the Northeastern United states. I will not. Well, at least not yet.
I chose to start school at the end of November instead of the beginning of September. I am not attending a traditional school, so why start at a traditional time? At the time, it seemed like a good idea. Starting later gave me a little more time to settle every thing at home before heading off to college and the rest of my life. Now, I'm not so sure.
My friends are leaving. I am not. It is so totally incomprehensible to me that I will not bee seeing them all when Mountain View High school resumes classes at the end of August. No, they wont be there and neither will I. The difference is, I will still be here to see the first day of school. I will still be here to hear all of the new gossip first hand. Oh November 24th can not come soon enough. Meredith Manor, ready when you are!
